wahoo spring break

So I've been home since Friday and so far things have been pretty eventful. I went to my cousin's baby shower Saturday night and it was nice to see the more distant family. You learn to appreciate certain things a lot more when you haven't been around them for so long. Although my family is kind of big and extended, we are all really close and I really don't know what I would do without them. I also enjoy noticing the little changes of the neighborhood when I go for my daily runs. Being away months at a time allows for the little changes to really show. I think the one thing I enjoy the most is seeing families with little kids and slowly watching them grow up. My neighborhood has a lot of small children and I'll sometimes pass them on the street and not even recognize the children who I once knew as just being infants.

Life throws so many changes into someone's life everyday, I get excited thinking about what possibly could be coming my way. This warm weather is getting me excited for the spring. Can't wait to rock out my favorite flats from Lilly Pulitzer.

reconnection with an old friend...

It's funny how one person can impact your life in such a big way and sometimes you can tell yourself over and over again that you have to let go and not worry about it -- sometimes that's just impossible. While I was dancing in the middle of the dance floor at a frat house (oh yes, I was loving my life) on Saturday, I got a call from an old friend and a part of me that was once dead suddenly came back to life-- as cliche as that may sound, it's true! There are some connections that you have with certain people that you just need, not just to feel secure. When you have someone in your life for an extended period of time they create a special place in your heart and when they leave, that space is open and makes you feel empty. So I'm looking forward to rekindling a friendship that once meant so much to me!

In other news-- I GET MY LITTLE ON FRIDAY! They say good things come to those to wait and I didn't believe it until now and I am ecstatic. I have been crafting like no other, but all this work is so worth it. I already know that I'm probably going to cry, it'll just be a great moment!

Although I'm hating my life with the three tests I have this week and the weather is disgusting today, I am so thankful for the amazing people in my life and the sunshine that they bring into my life :0) 10 days until spring break and it could not come any sooner.
