reconnection with an old friend...

It's funny how one person can impact your life in such a big way and sometimes you can tell yourself over and over again that you have to let go and not worry about it -- sometimes that's just impossible. While I was dancing in the middle of the dance floor at a frat house (oh yes, I was loving my life) on Saturday, I got a call from an old friend and a part of me that was once dead suddenly came back to life-- as cliche as that may sound, it's true! There are some connections that you have with certain people that you just need, not just to feel secure. When you have someone in your life for an extended period of time they create a special place in your heart and when they leave, that space is open and makes you feel empty. So I'm looking forward to rekindling a friendship that once meant so much to me!

In other news-- I GET MY LITTLE ON FRIDAY! They say good things come to those to wait and I didn't believe it until now and I am ecstatic. I have been crafting like no other, but all this work is so worth it. I already know that I'm probably going to cry, it'll just be a great moment!

Although I'm hating my life with the three tests I have this week and the weather is disgusting today, I am so thankful for the amazing people in my life and the sunshine that they bring into my life :0) 10 days until spring break and it could not come any sooner.

happy mardi gras!

So there is a little more snow falling today (on and off)-- not too sure how I feel about it. I am so sick of the cold weather and just want it to be warm again. Spring break is only 16 days away (oh yes, I started a countdown)!! I don't really have any exciting updates so I decided today might be good to make a "favorites" blog :)

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...

Growing up I have always been a Mets and Giants fan, winning or losing that's the way it's always been. Although some may think I'm crazy, I refuse to be one of the those who just roots for the team that's winning. If I had to choose who I liked better, I would have to say Giants just because football is so much more exciting to watch-- at least in my opinion.

Away from home, my favorite place to be is New York City. Going to the school in Pennsylvania, I get extremely bitter when people refer to Philly as "the City." Philly is not "the City," nor will it ever add up to what New York City is. I am obsessed and one of my goals before I get married and start a family is to live in the city for a little. It's truly a magical place.

I have a terrible obsession with paisley and Vera Bradley and I only wish I was kidding. Although, I have taken a little break for a little and bought a Longchamp to carry my schools books for the time being, 90% of my bag/accessory collection is a product of Vera Bradley. One of my best friend's here at school just got me the Clip Zip ID Wallet in Bali Gold and I've been using it to carry about my school ID and things.

My Chamilla bracelet has become my child. I received my bracelet and first few charms from my parent's this past Christmas and I am always caught just staring at it. It's something that I want to continue adding onto as the years go by. Each charm has a special meaning and I recently purchased a bear charm to represent my wonderful sorority (our mascot is a Phi bear).

I have to get ready for class now, but I will make sure to update as frequently as I can :)

oh valentine's day...

It didn't take much thought for me to consider starting a blog after one of my sorority sisters had mentioned how she was considering starting one, nor was it hard to think of the perfect blog title --ravello. This past summer, I had gone on vacation with my family where we traveled around the Mediterranean on a twelve night cruise. Although the whole trip was breathtaking, my favorite spot, hands down, was our day trip to the Almafi Coast in Italy. We had lunch on a terrace at the Ravello Garden -- the view is just unexplainable. The pictures we had taken did not do it justice so I took one from the site (pictured to the right).

My sorority hosted our Red Dress Gala yesterday which raised money for our Alpha Phi Foundation (Cardiac Care) and it was a huge success. I love when the sorority comes together in events like the Red Dress Gala because it really brings us close together and I love the bond that we share between the 65 of us.

Classes start tomorrow and after having 3 days off, it's not exactly something I am really looking forward to, but I am ready to get back into the swing of things. I got a nice surprise from an anonymous valentine today; I just wish I knew who he was. Other then contemplating at who this secret boy is, I will be spending the day finishing some homework while listening to the fun Valentine's Day playlists on playlist.com.

Hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day. I'll try and update as frequently as I can :)
