Happy Father's Day!

How foolish of me to forget to put up a Father's Day post! Well, here is my post that I'm writing real quick before I leave to spend some time with the family...

Although, I must admit I am not very much of a "Daddy's girl," I appreciate my dad for everything that he has given to me. I have truly been living such a blessed life and I don't know what I would do without him in my life. If you've read my blog before you will know one dad who means the world to me and that's my Granddad. I am much closer to him than I am to my father and he truly is the best grandfather I could ever ask for.

It would not be typical of me to not place a song up for the momentous occassion so I shall place one of my favorite daughter-father songs! "Daughters" by John Mayer. Not only do I adore John Mayer, but the lyrics are just so great! Ah, my heart melts listening to this song!

"Fathers, be good to your daughters. Daughters will love like you do. Girls become lovers who turn into mothers, so mothers be good to your daughters too"

If you know me, you know that I have quite the personality and it would come to no shock to many that since turning 21, I have fallen in love with karaoke night at the local bar. For the past three weeks, my friends and I have strolled over and have had a fantastic time every single time. This past week I sang "Jack and Diane" by John Mellencamp and "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey-- both were huge hits (or so I'd like to think). Aside from the karaoke, this week ended up turning into a mini high school reunion when different groups of people came in from our graduating class. That's the fun thing about turning 21; now all of us '08 graduates have yet another place to run into eachother. Although at times is what a little strange, it brought back some old memories. Funny the way it is sometimes...

My current hair obsession....

With my hair being extremely thick and many times found too tangly to deal with, I went on a quest to find a shampoo/conditioner combo that would be great for my pain-in-the-neck hair. I can say I am very pleased with the results that I've gotten from Organix's coconut milk. Not only does it leave my hair smelling so great, but my hair has gotten a shine that I've been extremely happy with. Having the amount hair I do, it's hard sometimes to really find a combo that works with me. I am quite pleased :)

Something about this song that I just love listening to it over and over again. And in all honesty, who else thinks Haley Reinhart is the realy Americal Idol winner?

J. Crew becoming less Preppy?

Since summer has been a lot of "me" time I have a lot of time to do things that I would not necessiarly be able to do once everything starts to kick in, going to the mall being one of these things. I recently went into a J. Crew store in the local mall and was looking to purchase some of my personal favorites, for example- a new pair of fabric flip flops, and found that they were replaced by the typical flip flop that I could purchase at any other store. Perplexed at where they could possibly be and thinking maybe they were sold out, I was then told by a J. Crew employee that the style of the store was being driven to be less preppy. How could this be so?!? I have always known J. Crew as being one store of only a couple of stores that I could go to where I could find the perfect little preppy pieces to complete or create certain outfits. Anyone else not understand this?

To cure the doubt that I had with J. Crew, my mom and I took a trip down to the J. Crew outlet that's about half an hour from my house and was a lot more satisfied with what I saw. I was able to get a few outfits and a brand new pair of fabric flip flops -- thank goodness!

Holy Heat Wave!

Who turned up the heat?!

Summer Goals

I have again neglected to give my blog the attention it deserves. The last few weeks of school were a lot more hectic that I had hoped, but with a lot of time now before camp starts I thought I'd start it up... yet again. I'm terrible I know. With that a summer is full blow with this INTENSE heat I have decided to come up with some summer goals.
  1. Loose more weight! With the added on stress at school, I was unable to really focus on myself; ate when I could eat and my workout schedule when out the door! Not accepetable and needs to change fast.
  2. Have as much fun as possible. This is really my last summer until I'm going to be thrown out into the real world and have to do big people things.
  3. Save some money! I will be the first to admit that I have a terrible of saving money when I have it. I need to get into the mentality that some money needs to start to be saved.
  4. Don't focus on the negative. I've come to notice that when I do actually have free time in the summer, I sit back and think about things that I really shouldn't be thinking about and I just need to let life go. Start focusing more on the amazing people and things that are in my life and not so much what no longer is there
Me and one of my best friends at the beach this past Tuesday.

Summer has been quite relaxing, but I must say I do miss being at school and my friends at school. Moving in our new apartment August 23 -- so excited!
